Conference on Alternative Strategies for Alcoholism Treatment
The ScattergoodEthics Program held a conference on Alternative Strategies for Alcoholism Treatment on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 8:30am - 3:00pm.
The conference was organized by the ScattergoodEthics program in cooperation with the Center for Studies of Addiction, University of Pennsylvania. This program was co-sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice and was funded through an educational grant from Alkermes, Inc.
The conference examined the role and ethical implications of comprehensive treatment for alcoholism, including the ethical challenges of different treatment strategies and the latest empirical research and clinical evidence. Participants included a panel of experts from the local alcohol treatment community.
Professionals in the alcohol dependency treatment community were encouraged to attend.
Social Work Continuing Education Units were available to participants.
